September starts fast at SideBar. From Wednesday, September 2, through Sunday, September 6, the Gaslamp Quarter’s boutique nightclub is stacking five straight nights around San Diego open-format talent, a dedicated K-pop night, Miami-meets-Chicago flavor, Las Vegas nightlife polish, and one of the Bay Area’s most inventive turntablists.
That variety fits SideBar especially well. The venue pairs its intimate lounge atmosphere with craft cocktails, VIP bottle service, an elevated DJ booth, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, and a custom LED chandelier. It is glamorous without feeling oversized, giving the DJs and the crowd a much closer connection than you get in a massive club room.
Wednesday, September 2 — Nvious
Nvious gets the week moving with a range that makes Wednesday feel anything but routine.
The San Diego DJ, also known as Nem Vulovic, comes from a musical background that includes classical piano before he moved into open-format DJing. His sets can jump cleanly between hip-hop, house, EDM, Top 40, Latin records, and throwbacks, making him a strong fit for a SideBar crowd that doesn’t want to stay in one genre all night. His résumé includes performances alongside DJ Khaled, A$AP Ferg and Future, as well as mixes connected to Pitbull’s Globalization channel on SiriusXM.
He is also very much part of San Diego nightlife rather than a headliner parachuting in for one appearance. SideBar booked him multiple times in 2026, while other recent local listings have placed him at spots including El Chingon. His Instagram presence, currently around 10,000 followers, keeps the focus largely on DJ mixes, bookings and nightlife rather than overproduced celebrity branding.
For the opening night of this run, that is exactly the energy SideBar needs: familiar to the city, musically flexible and ready to take Industry Wednesday from cocktails to a full late-night session.
Thursday, September 3 — Yo Yolie & Phoreyz for K-Pop Night
Thursday switches gears with a K-Pop Night that has serious nightlife credentials.
Yo Yolie is not simply a DJ adding a few Korean pop songs to an open-format set. She identifies herself as the official BTS DJ for U.S. pre- and afterparties connected to Permission to Dance in 2022 and ARIRANG in 2025. Her Instagram following is above 45,000, and her profile also lists her as a host and DJ on Pitbull’s Globalization platform. Her wider musical lane includes K-pop, Latin, house, funk, hip-hop and pop, giving her plenty of room to move between fan favorites and broader club records.
Her BTS connection has real history. During the group’s 2022 Las Vegas run, an iHeartMedia report highlighted how Yo Yolie’s official afterparty set at Jewel went deeper than obvious singles, including B-sides and solo material. Fan response was strong enough that they brought her back for additional dates.
Phoreyz adds another level of club experience. The New York-born, Los Angeles-based DJ and producer is known for open-format selection and turntable technique, with his social profiles listing major Las Vegas rooms including Hakkasan, OMNIA, Tao Beach, Marquee, Tao and Jewel. Just weeks before this SideBar date, Tao Group booked him for its “Mondays On My Mind” party at Marquee Dayclub on August 10, 2026; Las Vegas nightlife calendars also listed him at Jewel on August 28.
Put the two together, and this feels less like a novelty theme night and more like a proper K-pop-driven club event: fandom knowledge from Yo Yolie, Vegas-tested open-format instincts from Phoreyz, and SideBar’s intimate luxury setting tying it all together.
Friday, September 4 — DJ Crespo
Friday brings DJ Crespo, whose sound makes sense once you look at the music he grew up around.
His official bio traces an unusually broad set of influences: soul and disco alongside salsa and merengue during his Chicago upbringing, followed by Miami bass, hip-hop, reggae and electronic music after his move to Florida. That mix became the foundation of an open-format career that has taken him through E11EVEN in Miami, Marquee in Las Vegas and Up&Down in New York, as well as festival appearances at Electric Daisy Carnival and TomorrowWorld. He has also shared lineups with artists including Diplo, Steve Aoki and Wiz Khalifa.
Crespo is not relying only on an established nightclub résumé, either. His 2026 activity includes new music: “Havana’s Calling Me,” a collaboration with MARE, Way 2 Nice and Los Padres, arrived during the summer, with Crespo promoting the release in late July.
His longtime “Good Vibrations” identity is a pretty accurate guide to what works about his sets. There can be hip-hop, electronic music, Latin influence, recognizable vocal records and unexpected pivots without the night feeling scattered.
That range is ideal for a SideBar Friday: polished enough for the tables, energetic enough for a packed room and unpredictable enough that nobody knows exactly where the next transition is going.
Saturday, September 5 — Crooked
Saturday belongs to Crooked, and this booking comes with decades of real club experience.
Born in Honolulu, raised in New York and long associated with Las Vegas nightlife, Crooked has played major venues including XS, Encore Beach Club, LIV Miami, Marquee New York, Tao, Lavo, Wet Republic, Hakkasan and OMNIA. His background stretches well beyond straightforward DJ bookings, too: he co-created the R.O.A.D. Podcast, which focuses on DJs, music and nightlife culture, and previously built the KNYEW fashion brand in Las Vegas.
SideBar already knows what he brings to the room. Crooked returned for the club’s July 4, 2026 weekend after several earlier SideBar appearances, so September is a continuation of an established relationship rather than a one-off booking.
Musically, his strength is open format with experience behind every decision. Hip-hop can move into house, a throwback can appear without draining the energy, and his mic work gives the set the personality of a host as much as a selector. SideBar’s own recent coverage points to that room-reading ability as one reason he works particularly well in its boutique environment.
Saturday should feel unmistakably high-end but not overly polished: Vegas confidence, New York instincts and a smaller Gaslamp room where every transition lands close to the crowd.
Sunday, September 6 — Miles Medina
Miles Medina closes the five-night run with the most technically distinctive set of the week.
The Bay Area DJ began entering battles at 14 and eventually won the inaugural Goldie Awards DJ Battle in 2017. According to Serato, he reached the final from more than 300 submissions, winning through a combination of track selection, technique, creativity, and style. His sets reflect the same approach: colorful, genre-spanning and built around using turntable skill without letting technique overpower the music itself.
His online following is also substantially larger than a typical club DJ’s footprint. Medina has roughly 92,000 Instagram followers, while his official link hub points fans toward original edits, mixes and performances. A 2026 Case & Friends live session showcased a contemporary blend spanning hip-hop, R&B, Jersey club and related club sounds.
And this is a quick return to SideBar. Medina was part of the club’s Sunday Cleaning event on August 6, 2026, alongside Mike O’Leary and others, giving him fresh momentum in the same room heading into Labor Day weekend.
That makes him an especially good closer. After four nights of open format, K-pop, Latin influence and Vegas energy, Sunday gets something a little more detailed without becoming overly serious. Medina can give the crowd recognizable music, clever edits and serious turntable control while still keeping the night social.
Five nights, six DJs and a completely different angle every evening: that is a strong way for SideBar to open September.
